Lauryn Hill 3 hours late for concerts

Lauryn Hill has some nerve, showing up to concerts 3 hours late and with no apologies. She addresses the audience in such a rude manner saying that she is "worth the wait" and that anybody can go get a refund if they need to and "a lot goes into getting her to the venues", blah blah blah. She says we just don't know what all is going on in her life. I really can't believe her attitude sometimes, she should be happy anybody even shows up for her anymore. She says "You get what you get" with her shows. And then to top it all off, she wants to start out by singing a Bob Marley track, WTF Lauryn? Play your own songs and better yet put out a new album. Please listen to her sorry excuses.

Gorillaz "The Fall"

Gorillaz have a new free CD called "The Fall" that was made during their North American tour and composed entirely on an iPad. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the CD is quite interesting. I pretty much thought it was going to sound like video game noises with singing. Sometimes it does sound that way, but it completely works here (I would sort of expect a cartoon band to sound this way).

It is much more complex than I had imagined. The CD has 15 tracks. My favorite tracks are "Hillbilly Man" and "Detroit." Front man Damon Albarn is quite talented with limited means, it's quite impressive that he wrote this CD so quickly and efficiently. The CD is offered as a free stream on the Gorillaz official website http://thefall.gorillaz.com/. As always, I love artists who give their music freely to their fans.

Jay Chao, my new favorite

Jay Chao is my new favorite actor/foreign import. He completely steals the show as the sidekick Kato in "The Green Hornet." Not only is he an expert in martial arts, but he also has quite a resume in music. He is a classically trained musician and pop recording artist in Asia. They call him the Asian Justin Timberlake. He has a ton of albums and has sold millions in Asian countries. He has also written a book, and has directing experience. So talented. I wish I spoke Chinese, so I could understand him.

Kanye West's "Monster" done by Muppets

This was pretty funny (for about a minute and a half). Who knew the muppets would be so entertaining with foul mouths? The Miss Piggy as Nicki Minaj
is hilarious. Take a look.

Cameron Diaz's legs

Cameron Diaz was on Jimmy Kimmel last night promoting "The Green Hornet" and I was so distracted by her beautiful long tanned legs. They really are amazing, I just couldn't stop looking at them. Her arms are pretty nice and buff as well. Alright, I think I've said enough about her assets. Check them out.

M.I.A. as "Vickileekx"

M.I.A. has released a new free mixtape available for download called "Vickileekx" (a kind of wordplay on the whole Wikileaks scandal). It is awesome and arguably her best work as of yet. I love it so much, it is my new favorite CD. The songs are leftovers and unreleased tracks from her last album called "MAYA." It is composed of about 20 tracks that are mixed together as one track (which usually would bother me, but it completely works here).

If you are able to download this, I highly recommend it. I really didn't expect the quality of the songs to be so fantastic or interesting (considering that it is available for free). In my opinion, she should have just swapped out her last CD with his one. Her album "MAYA" should have been the free mixtape (but I guess this is what makes M.I.A. so interesting). You really never know what you are going to get with her.

Oh how I love free music, so completely satisfying this one was. Every track is excellent and more reminiscent of her live shows with a DJ. Clip below has a download link (just click on the viewing screen and it will take you to Youtube, the link is listed in the comments field). Sometimes mixtapes disappear, I would download sooner than later.

Kanye West's "Monster"

This video is extremely creepy and inappropriate (which is exactly why I have posted it on my blog). I don't think any video station would ever air this video in its original version. The whole video would pretty much need to be removed or altered. There are dead models everywhere, bodies are being dragged around, creepy zombies and vampires, dead model bodies are hanging from the rafters. It's sort of like Micheal Jackson's "Thriller," but on steroids.

This video is not for the squeamish, please watch at your own risk. I thought it was way too graphic. Very twisted and sick. In fact, I'm not sure how I feel about it. The two Nicki Minaj monsters are bizarre. I do like the way the song starts off though "Bitch, I'm a monster, no good bloodsucker..." They're more like scary ghetto monsters. Be advised, this video is extremely graphic.

Emily Osment

Ok, so this is not my usual kind of music, but I did kind of like this. I was in another room not really paying attention to her at all and her song made me pay attention. For those who don't know who she is, she is the younger sister of Haley Joel Osment ("the Sixth Sense") and she is also known as the best friend and sidekick of Hannah Montana. I was expecting to hate this song, but it was actually pretty good. It continues to be stuck in my head. Just thought she deserved a mention.
