Alicia Silverstone's "The Kind Diet"

I'm not a vegan, per say, but I am known to "flirt" with vegan and vegetarian ideas and recipes on occasion. I haven't been able to fully embrace a vegetarian diet and lifestyle (I still eat fish and poultry. Alicia Silverstone's New York Time Bestselling book "The Kind Diet" is an excellent and informative resource for those of us who want to be more conscious and informed about what we are eating.

I was given this book as a Christmas gift, and have been enjoying the recipes and information that it provides. The information is delivered in such a way as to not make you feel bad about what you are currently eating, but rather to offer suggestions and choices that you might be able to implement into your daily routine that help our world and minimize cruelty to animals.

This type of diet can be quite an adjustment for the average person. She offers recipes and information for both hardcore vegans and what she refers to as "flirts" who are just beginning to make different choices about their diets.

This book is also an excellent reference for anyone who gets baffled by health store ingredients. A must have!

She also has a blog/website at www.thekindlife.com
