Pete Burns and his horrible plastic surgery

I don't know if anyone got a chance to watch the "Celebrity Plastic Surgery-Gone Too Far" special on ABC last week, but if you didn't get a chance to see Pete Burns, then I have a clip for you. Pete Burns is the lead singer of 80's pop sensation Dead or Alive who sang "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)."

I think my jaw dropped open when I saw his plastic surgery, what was he thinking? And who let him do that to himself? It really is shocking that he walks around looking this way. He says that he had a botched procedure on his lips (but what about the rest of his face?). He says he hopes the doctor dies. His lips are so crazy, Burns says they were swollen and gushing puss (disgusting). You have to see this! Gone too far indeed.

Kanye West's "Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"

Now this is exactly what I've been waiting for. The music is both interesting and innovative. While I may not like Kanye's politics or controversy, his music never fails to excite. The guests are also equally exciting. My favorite track "All of the Lights", has 11 guest vocalists in a chorus, including Alicia Keys, John Legend, The-Dream, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Elton John, Ryan Leslie, Charlie Wilson, Tony Williams, Elly Jackson, and Rihanna, who sings the song's main hook.

My favorite tracks include "Monster" with Jay-Z, Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj and "Devil In A New Dress" which also features Rick Ross. I give it 4 stars, a hip-hop masterpiece. It is highly recommended.

Ryan Reynolds as People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive"

Ryan Reynolds? Really?? He is the most boring man that I have ever seen. Even his cover photo for People Magazine is pretty bland. He has been in great shape since he did Wolverine (I'll give him that), but his face is so plain and boring. His wife Scarlett Johansson is sexy, but he is not at all. I really would like to know who does their voting (maybe they gave him extra points for his body). His face is pretty blah and bland. Am I blind?

Beyonce's new fragrance "Heat"

Wow! She gave me fever too. I loved this so much that I watched it three times. Beyonce looks nice in red and also oiled up in the bathtub. Thank you Beyonce, my life is now complete.

Emiliana Torrini "Jungle Drum"

This isn't exactly new anymore, but I thought this video was amusing. She is from Iceland, the same as Bjork, and makes equally cute videos. It's almost too cute. Iceland apparently has some of the most interesting performers.

Gwyneth Paltrow goes country

Sure she can sing, but is she "Country Strong" as the song suggests? I don't know about that. I was curious enough to watch this on Youtube, but not curious enough to watch the entire bland CMA awards. Here's a clip if anyone is interested. Maybe she'll start doing Coldplay duets with her husband.

Beyonce's new video "Why Don't You Love Me?"

I love you Beyonce. With that said, I'll say that I do not like her new blond Betty Page type look. It's kind of hard to mess up that kind of beauty. The song and video are interesting enough (much better than her last pop fluff Sasha Fierce stuff). I would like to see her return to her RNB/Hip Hop roots, remember "Crazy in Love?" She is evolving. Maybe her new album will be amazing, this first single at least made me want to hear more. We'll stay tuned...

N.E.R.D. "Nothing"

The fourth N.E.R.D. album "Nothing" hits stores today, but I'm not really sure how to feel about it. It has similar musical style and lyrical content to their previous albums, but has less of a hip-hop feel. A couple of the songs sound very similar to each other. The grooves are more band-oriented this time around and less synthesized (they would probably sound great live). My problem really isn't the music, it's their lyrics. How many times do we need to hear about threesomes and partying? Just seems like they have already covered these themes many, many times before. They should have other things to talk about. To give them some credit, a couple of the songs are politically themed, but don't seem to work as well as some of the other songs(I guess they are trying to expand a little bit). To sum it all up, their music is great but the lyrics sometimes leave a little to be desired. Good, but could be better.

The CD did get better with additional listening, maybe I'll completely love it someday (but not today). The high points are "Life As A Fish"(which is way too short), "I've Seen The Light," "Nothing On You," and "Help Me."
