"The Voice"

I didn't really know if I was going to enjoy this show, but I thought I would at least give it a try. The premise of the show is to find true vocal talent by holding these blind auditions where the judges only get to hear the contestants voices. Singers are chosen by their vocal merits alone and nothing else. If the judges choose a contestant, then they get to see what they look like. After the judges choose who they want to see, the contestant then chooses which one of those judges (Christina Aguilera, Cee-lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton) that they would like to be mentored by. The judges also compete by picking teams of 8 from the contestants who chose them as mentors. It was pretty exciting so far.

"Rise of The Planet of the Apes" Trailer

This could be interesting if done properly. This film is a prequel to the 2001 Tim Burton remake of "Planet of The Apes." How the apes take over our planet is actually the most interesting part of the story, so a prequel might answer some questions. Not so sure about James Franco as a lead though. Have a look at the trailer. It comes out August 5th.

Black Eyed Peas "Just Can't Get Enough"

I like this song and this video. I really wasn't feeling the first single off their latest album "The Beginning," but this second single "Just Can't Get Enough" is pretty good. The video is very nicely done in Japan, about a week prior to the Tsunami. Take a look.

Tracy Morgan on The View

I don't usually pay that much attention to Tracy Morgan. He acts sort of like a child with ADD to me. I did enjoy him on the View though, he was really funny. I enjoyed the part where he says he met Colin Powell and asked him if he could tell people that Powell is his biological father. Please watch this funny clip.

20/20 Black Swan Controversy

This was interesting to me. Professional ballet dancer Sarah Lane says that she did about 85 percent of the dancing in the movie Black Swan. She also says that they used her body and then digitally placed Natalie Portman's face onto her body. At first I thought this was just a bunch of BS, but the more that I watched of this clip, I started to question how much of the dancing Natalie actually did. The bottom line is that Natalie won the best actress Oscar for her acting, not her dancing. Lane also says that she was asked by producers of the film to keep her mouth shut about all of this until after the Oscars (kinda shady huh?). You decide.

The Beautiful Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez was voted as "People's Most Beautiful Woman in the World." For once, I agree with them. I love the fact that she is not in her 20's or a white female and also not a stick figure. It really shows that beauty standards are changing over time, which is nice to see. I've always known this, glad to see that People Magazine agrees. She is always beautiful, classy and stylish (she looked so pretty in all of her photos that I found it hard to choose one). I'll stop gushing now.

Little Dragon's "Little Man"

I love this group. They are a Swedish electronic band with a Swedish-Japanese jazz/soul singer named Yukimi Nagano. They have a really interesting and unique sound attributed to Yukimi's smooth jazzy styled vocals. If you haven't heard them yet, please give them a listen. Here's a live clip of one of their new songs called "Little Man." Their new album called "Ritual Union" will be released on July 12th.
