Martina Topley-Bird's "Valentine"

This is a fan-made video, but it is pure genius. The film that they used works perfectly with Martina's moody song. I think I love it. The video really made me want to see this film, it's called "Alphaville." Take a look.

Remember "That '80's Show ?"

Yeah, I'm not really surprised that you wouldn't remember it. It was completely awful and was cancelled after 13 episodes on the Fox Network. It was not funny at all. The '80's references that they were using didn't even occur at the same times. They just sort of threw together any sort of '80's thing or idea that they could remember together (let's put a Rubik's cube in this scene and some jelly bracelets). It was way over the top, anyway for some reason I thought about it the other day. Here's a clip.

Sun Drop Commercial

This commercial is too funny. Her dancing cracks me up. Almost makes me want to try their beverage, which looks amazingly like Mountain Dew.

Sweet Potato Pancakes

These Sweet Potato Pancakes were excellent, just thought I would share the recipe since I enjoyed them so much. These also can be made in batches and either refrigerated or frozen.

Ingredient:
3/4 pound (2 1/2 cups) sweet potatoes
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions
Place sweet potatoes in a medium saucepan of boiling water, and cook until tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, and immediately immerse in cold water to loosen skins. Drain, remove skins, chop, and mash.
In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix mashed sweet potatoes, eggs, milk and butter in a separate medium bowl. Blend sweet potato mixture into the flour mixture to form a batter.
Preheat a lightly greased griddle over medium-high heat. Drop batter mixture onto the prepared griddle by heaping tablespoonfuls, and cook until golden brown, turning once with a spatula when the surface begins to bubble.

I made these into waffles that were pretty fantastic. I also thought they could be sweeter, so I added about a tablespoon of brown sugar.

Enjoy

Blast from the past...Bobby Brown visits the View

Well his style is a little tired (that leather look is straight from 1993), but he still sounds pretty good. This brought back a lot of memories, he was the first concert that I ever went to. My friend and I won tickets on the radio for his "Don't Be Cruel" tour back when I was in Junior High School. Anyway, it's nice to see him sober and happy and discussing his upcoming projects.

Alex Jones on "The View"

This was completely crazy. I don't even know where to begin. I think he pissed off all of the ladies, he barely would let them ask him any questions. And then he starts getting into it with Elisabeth (good grief). I bet they wish they had never invited him as a guest.

Adjustment Bureau Trailer

This new Matt Damon picture looks promising. It does sort of look like Inception (but maybe easier to understand). Matt Damon usually doesn't disappoint. I've enjoyed his performances in almost every role that I have seen him in (including that movie "Stuck on You" where he was Siamese Twins with Greg Kinnear). Take a look at the trailer, it comes out this Friday March 4th.
